The
Museum of Discovery and Science Appoints
Thomas P. Angelo as Chairman of the Board
Fort Lauderdale, December 19, 2003-
At a recent meeting, the Museum
of Discovery and Science elected its newest Trustees and Thomas P. Angelo as
the new
Chairman of the Board. Thomas Angelo is the Managing Partner of the local
law firm Angelo, Barry & Banta, P.A. Angelo practices in the arenas
of Real Estate, Corporate and Financial Services. Tom Angelo is a graduate
of both Georgetown University and the University Of Virginia School Of
Law.
The following new members were elected to the Board of Trustees:

Representative John P. Jack Seiler.
The recent elections brought the Museum a uniquely diverse, highly intelligent
and capable group of men and women to serve on the Museums Board of Trustees, commented
President/ CEO Kim Cavendish. The Museum of Discovery and Science recognizes
the privilege it is to have the aforementioned people as the newest Trustees,
and Thomas P. Angelo as the Chairman of the Board.
ABOUT THE MUSEUM OF DISCOVERY AND SCIENCE
The mission
of the Museum of Discovery and Science is to provide experiential
pathways to lifelong learning
in science
for children and adults through programs, exhibits and films.
Founded in 1976 as The Discovery Center, the nonprofit facility
serves approximately 400,000 visitors each year.
The Museum is open seven days per week, Monday through
Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday from
noon to 6:00 p.m. with extended IMAX hours on Friday and
Saturday evenings. General admission prices are $14.00
for adults; $13.00 for seniors and students; $12.00 for
children 3 to 12. Children under 3 are free. A
General Admission Ticket includes admission to the Museum
exhibits and one IMAXÒ film. The Museum of
Discovery and Science is located downtown at 401 S.W. Second
Street, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33312.
