May 5, 2008, Ft. Lauderdale, FL - The 13th Annual Bank of America Wine and Culinary Celebration held at the Museum of Discovery and Science on April 11, 2008 raised $105,000 for the Museum. Over 1,000 guests enjoyed tantalizing cuisine, music, and a bountiful silent auction. The presenting sponsor was Bank of America, and the exclusive beverage sponsor was Southern Wine and Spirits. Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort sponsored the VIP Lounge. Media partners included Lite 101.5 FM and Gold Coast Magazine. Printing Sponsor was Print Dynamics.

This popular event, chaired this year by Bank of America President of Broward County Mark Maller, Leon Garza of LG Capital Solutions, LLC and Dr. Wilhelmina Mack of W. Mack & Associates, Inc. The event featured a progressive sequence of wine and food pairings selected to delight, educate and entertain guests. Thirty of South Florida’s top restaurants and chefs were represented, as well as 200 wines, beers and spirits from around the world.

VIP guests started the evening off with a Private Champagne & Martini Reception, sponsored by Southern Wine & Spirits and catered by Thierry’s Catering. Sommelier Ron Warshawsky, hosted interactive wine tasting seminars for guests looking to gain more knowledge on the art of wine. Later in the evening, the Museum’s atrium was transformed into an ultra chic South Beach Lounge. The Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort VIP Lounge was the place to be seen. VIP guests sipped Caipirinha the signature drink for the evening and sampled delectable Rock Shrimp Salad with Vanilla and Ginger Panna Cotta, Poached Frogs Legs with Chanterelles and Lilly Pads and Death by Chocolate Mousse.

Highlighting the evening were some of South Florida’s top restaurants such as Big City Tavern, Bonefish Grill of Fort Lauderdale, Christina Wan’s, Christine’s, Cookies by Design, Crepe Maker, FISH, Galanga, Himmarshee Bar & Grille, Jackson’s Steakhouse, La Marquise Desserts, Inc., Mancini’s Ristorante, My Market and Deli, Nespresso Business Coffee Solutions, Riley McDermott’s, Rino’s Tuscan Grill, Stork’s Café, Taverna Opa of Fort Lauderdale, The Capital Grille, The Four Rivers Contemporary Thai Kitchen The Melting Pot, The River House, Thierry’s Catering, Trina Restaurant & Lounge, Valentino’s Cucina Italiana, Vienna Café & Wine Bar, and We Take the Cake.
