Dine, Drink and Discover! at the 12th Annual Bank of America Wine and Culinary Celebration at the Museum of Discovery and Science Friday, April 13, 2007

March 29, 2007, Fort Lauderdale— The 12th Annual Bank of America Wine and Culinary Celebration, hosted by S.P.A.R.K. (Science Patrons Advancing Research and Knowledge), will take place at the Museum of Discovery and Science on Friday, April 13, 2007 from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The event will feature a progressive sequence of wine and food pairings, each bound to delight, educate and entertain guests. Over 30 of South Florida's top restaurants and chefs will be represented, as well as wines from wineries around the world, courtesy of Southern Wine and Spirits. The event features a silent auction, VIP wine tasting classes led by a master sommelier and a complimentary Riedel wine glass.

The evening will begin with an exclusive VIP reception from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. VIP guests will enjoy an exclusive VIP reception from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., a mini wine tasting seminar led by a master sommelier and early admission for food and wine tasting. Doors open for general admission at 7:30 p.m. A VIP ticket is $150 per person and General Admission is $85 per person. For advance tickets or more information, please call 954.713.0954.

Highlighting the evening are some of South Florida's top restaurants such as Beachwatch, Big Tomato Market Grill, Bonefish Grill of Ft. Lauderdale, Christina Wan's, Cookies By Design, CrepeMaker, Fish, Galanga, Himmarshee Bar & Grille, Hobo's Fish Joint, Jackson's Steakhouse, Michael's Kitchen, Moe's Southwest Grill, more MARKET • BISTRO • WINE BAR, Nespresso Business Coffee Solution, Poncho's Backyard, Taverna Opa of Ft. Lauderdale, The Capital Grille, The River House, The Four Rivers, The Grape on Las Olas, The Melting Pot, Trina Restaurant & Lounge, Valentino's, Vienna Café, and We Take The Cake.

With an estimated 1,200 guests expected to attend, this celebration is anticipated to raise approximately $150,000 for the Museum of Discovery and Science. Serving as co-chairs for the event are Cecily Conklin, Lisa Zwick and Peggy Marker. The presenting sponsor is Bank of America, and the exclusive beverage sponsor is Southern Wine and Spirits. Media partners include Lite 101.5 FM.

The mission of the Museum of Discovery and Science is to provide experiential pathways to lifelong learning in science for children and adults through exhibits, programs and films. Founded in 1976 as The Discovery Center, the nonprofit facility serves approximately 400,000 visitors each year. ABOUT THE MUSEUM OF DISCOVERY AND SCIENCE

The Museum is open seven days per week (365 days a year); Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. with extended IMAX hours on Friday and Saturday evenings. General admission prices are $15 for adults; $14 for seniors; $12 for children 2 to 12.
Children under 2 are free. A General Admission Ticket includes admission to the Museum exhibits

ABOUT THE BLOCKBUSTER® IMAX® THEATER

The Blockbuster® IMAX®Theater, owned and operated by the Museum of Discovery and Science, opened in 1992. The 300-seat theater is a showcase of state-of-the-art motion picture technology. The Blockbuster® IMAX®Theater features a 60 ft. x 80 ft. screen and a 15,000 watt digital sound system that delivers six discrete channels of clear sound through 42 speakers. The IMAX® projector's 15,000 watt Xenon bulb projects images of unsurpassed brilliance and clarity onto the five-story-high screen. Both 2D and 3D films are shown in the theater. 3D films are viewed using our new lightweight XR 3D glasses, the latest technology in 3D film viewing.
