IBM South Florida Camp to inspire
girls to become scientists, mathematicians and engineers of
tomorrow to be held at Museum of Discovery and Science.
What:
Over 20 local middle school girls
will be encouraged to take their place among the next generation
of engineers, scientists and future innovators at the 2007 G.R.E.A.T. (Girls
Really Excelling at Technology) Camp, hosted by IBM South
Florida at the Museum of Discovery and Science in Fort
Lauderdale. With the assistance of more than 25 IBM employee
volunteers, the girls will: build robots out of LEGOS, learn
about careers in engineering, and practice some detective work.

Robotics 101: Hands on Learning with Legos - The girls will
begin the design, build and programming of a robot using Legos
and programming software.

retirees volunteered over 20,000 hours of service in local
schools and nonprofits.
About the Museum: The Museum is open seven days per week
(365 days a year); Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5
p.m., and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. with extended IMAX most
evenings. General admission prices are $15 for adults; $14 for
seniors; $12 for children 2 to 12. Children under 2 are free. A
General Admission Ticket includes admission to the Museum
exhibits and one 45-minute IMAX® film. The Museum of Discovery
