A new traveling exhibit, Math Midway: A Carnival of Mathematics, opens January 26, 2013 at the Museum of Discovery and Science. Children and adults alike can discover surprising aspects of math with this hands-on tour of mathematical concepts in this colorful, carnival-style exhibit. Visitors can experience fun and challenging activities such as riding a square-wheeled tricycle around a sunflower track, creating one-of-a-kind drawings using the Mysterious Harmonograph, composing a tune with the Organ Function Grinder, or attempting to solve one of the tricky math puzzles!
Math Midway’s more than 20 interactive exhibits allow visitors to explore the world of pattern, shape and numbers. The exhibit’s goal is to change public perceptions of math and improve the way we educate our youth by demonstrating that math can be interactive, fun and exciting.
